This Lime Jello Dessert Recipe uses Oreo cookies for the
crust. YUMMY!
It is an easy, but delicious lime dessert recipe that I call
"Lime Delight."
It is hugely popular with the restaurant guests. Even the
younger folks at the restaurant rave about this dessert. It is a favorite
restaurant dessert recipe.
Lime Jello Dessert Recipe
Called "Lime Delight"
Favorite Restaurant Dessert Recipe
Preparation time: 25 minutes (but 1 hour to allow Jello to set up). Serves 12.
Ingredients:
- 1 can evaporated milk (place in freezer 3-4 hours
before making this recipe)
- 1 package (1 pound, 2 ounces) Oreo cookies (or Mint-Oreo cookies if you like those)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3 ounce package of lime Jello
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- Finely ground chocolate or chocolate swirls and
whipping cream or Hersey's chocolate for garnishing (optional choices)
Instructions:
- Finely crush the cookies in a food processor
- Mix crush Oreo cookies with the melted butter and press into the bottom of a large pie pan or 9 X 12 inch baking dish and set aside
- Dissolve the Lime Jello in hot water and chill until partially set
- Whip partially set Jello until fluffy
- Stir in sugar and juices
- Whip the chilled milk until it is fluffy and fold into the Jello mixture
- Pour into the Oreo cookie crust and freeze
- Garnish with whipping cream and / or ground chocolate or chocolate swirl (optional) and serve frozen and enjoy!
