Herb Butter Spread Recipe

Restaurant Butter Recipe

This recipe for Herb Butter Spread was one I ran across some time ago when I purchased a carton of Organic Valley Butter, a product I always use.

Inside the carton I found this recipe and decided it looked good enough to put to the ultimate test.

I made the recipe and used it with some sautéed vegetables one evening. The restaurant guests loved it.

The next few nights the restaurant used it on a salmon special and a chicken special. Both received rave reviews!

The recipe is now a real restaurant recipe so I thought you'd enjoy it, too.

Preparation time: 10 minutes. Servings: 12-15.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup organic butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 teaspoon honey Dijon mustard
  • Ground white pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • In a small mixing bowl cream together the butter, chives, basil, parsley and mustard
  • Add pepper to taste
  • Cover the bowl and allow the spread to stand in a cool place for about 1 hour so the flavors can mingle
  • Mix again
  • Place spread on wax paper or parchment paper and form into a log
  • Twist ends of paper to seal and store in refrigerator (or freezer if not using soon)
  • Cut portions from log as needed

Thank you Organic Valley! This is really a great tasting enhancement for not only seafood, chicken and vegetables, but is also wonderful on breads and rolls.

Did you know? Culinary endeavors distinguish herbs from spices. Herbs refer to the leafy green parts of a plant (either fresh or dried), while a "spice" is a product from another part of the plant (usually dried), including seeds, berries, bark, roots and fruits.
