This Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake Recipe is very old, even older than I am, but it is like some other recipes in that it is timeless. It remains a favorite restaurant dessert recipe.
It is comfort food because many of us remember our mothers making this cake when we were young children.
It is comfort food because many of us remember our mothers making this cake when we were young children.
There are hundreds of variations of this mayonnaise cake
recipe, but this cake recipe is exactly the same as my mother's when she was
making birthday cakes for her daughters in the 1940's. It is a very moist and
delicious cake recipe.
And as delicious as this cake recipe is, it is also so easy it should be one for moms to teach their children and grand moms to teach their grand kids.
The cake recipe does not call for eggs at all. The mayonnaise takes the place of eggs and oil (fat) so some people call this an eggless cake. I hesitate to do so because the fact is mayonnaise is made with eggs and oil.

is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms
and a chocolate cake. I feel better already.”
