Feta Cheese Appetizer Recipe is for all the cheese, garlic and

It is a favorite restaurant recipe. I have often been asked to share this appetizer recipe
Feta cheese is versatile. It and can be combined with many
different herbs and vegetables. This recipe marries feta cheese with garlic,
roasted red peppers, onion, pitted Kalamata olives (or black olives), cream
cheese and dill.
It is a delicious and spectacular appetizer that your guests will praise you for.
Broiled Feta Cheese Appetizer Recipe
Favorite Restaurant Appetizer Recipe
Preparation time: 20 minutes. Serves 6.
Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup finely minced onion
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 3/4 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/3 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 3 ounces cream cheese, cut up
- 1 1/3 ounces crumbled Feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped, black olives
- 4 teaspoons chopped roasted red sweet peppers
- 1/3 teaspoon dried dill weed or (better yet) 1
teaspoon fresh dill, chopped
- Two 6-8 inch pita rounds or French bread (toasted or plain)
Instructions:
- Preheat broiler
- In a medium skillet, cook onion and garlic in the
olive oil and sesame oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until onion is
tender
- Remove from heat
- Add cream cheese and feta cheese and stir the
mixture until it is nearly smooth
- Stir in olives, sweet peppers and dill weed and
set aside
- In dry skillets fry the pita rounds until lightly
toasted
- Spread each pita round with 1/3 cup of the cheese
mixture
- Broil about 1 minute or until hot
- To serve, cut each round (if using pita) into six wedges
